BS Medical Technology
Medical Technology is a 4-year; full-time Undergraduate Program and the curriculum has been approved by the Academic Council of Jinnah Sindh Medical University. The College aims to train Medical Technology professionals according to the National and International standards.
The program has a limited number of students inducted once a year and they obtain training in classrooms and laboratories. Students participate in 8 semesters in 4 years Program and learn from clinical rotations during the program in relevant clinical settings. During the training, students have the opportunity to interact with other health care professionals as well as students from other health care professions.
Why BS Medical Technology?
Technology plays an eminent role in today’s world. It is the need of almost every field. Similarly, the Medical Technology Industry has a significant role in the Healthcare sector. It functions on modern electronic medical devices that simplify the diagnosis, analyses and the treatment of diseases. Physicians, surgeons and pathologists rely on the skills and expertise of the medical technologists and therefore they have a responsibility of diagnosing, analyzing and reporting findings to the treating doctors.
Vision
To train and generate Medical Technologists who are equipped with up to date clinical and research skills to compete at national and international level and be part of health care team in provision of health care through education, leadership and community care.
Mission Statement
To provide quality Medical Technology education in the discipline of Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Radiology & Imaging Sciences at Undergraduate level. These professional would be socially accountable and participate in Health Sciences Research, community services and life-long learning.
The College Aims
BS Medical Technology is a four-year semester-based program. Admissions are announced once a year. Candidates with minimum 50% marks in Pre-Medical Group from recognized boards/authorities are encouraged to apply.
A Level applicant is required to produce IBCC equivalence for enrollment in the program.
Merit is the prime criteria for selection i.e.:
To apply in the Medical Technology Program in MC College of Medical & Allied Health Sciences affiliated with Jinnah Sindh Medical University, students must complete the application form which could be obtained from the admission office of the College.
